I have been cooking and baking since I was very young. It has always been a great stress reliever for me, while also showing me how food can build a sense of community. My favorite recipe to bake currently is my chocolate espresso cake with blackberry buttercream.
Reading has always been a pastime of mine, which has caused me to have a small library in my family home. Some of my favorite novels are The Book Thief by Markus Zusak, The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo by Taylor Jenkins Reid, and The Alchemist by Paulo Coelho.
Painting is my creative outlet when I become overwhelmed with work or stress. I have been greatly inspired by the works of Charles Schridde and Hilma af Klint. I've painted several styles but mostly focus on abstract and still life paintings.
Yoga is my newest hobby. Once I moved on campus and took my first class at the rec center, I was hooked. It is a way for me to exercise while also tuning into my emotions and thoughts.
I have always loved listening to music. I once tried to learn how to play the bass but that was short-lived, to say the least. So now I stick to listening to artists like SZA, Arlo Parks, KISS, and Mac Miller.
Traveling and learning about world cultures has always been interesting to me. In fact, it was the whole reason I chose my current career path.
