Kinsey Gulley

University Honors Scholar in
the Lindner College of Business

Hi there! My name is Kinsey Gulley. I am a second-year International Business and Marketing major at the Lindner College of Business. While double-majoring, I am also in the process of obtaining certificates in Digital Engagement and Professional Communications.

As a business-minded student, I am on track to pursue a career that incorporates my visual creativity abilities with analytical and professional skills to become a brand management professional who works in an independent marketing or consulting firm. While pursuing this career, I plan to achieve a master's & PhD degree in consumer psychology or marketing.

Outside of my academic plans, I have recently been trying to upstart my own small magazine. I am still in the logistical process of figuring out what and how everything will operate but I am excited to see where it goes in the future!

When I am not working on professional activities or my small business, I have several hobbies including yoga and painting. I am also an avid volunteer and work with several local and national charities. I love reading and learning new things, particularly learning about foreign cultures and psychology.

Ultimately, my goals in life are to be able to support my family, pay off my parents' debts, launch my own businesses, and acquire a position of leadership in a supportive and holistic company.

Interests & Extracurriculars

Interests &
Extracurriculars

 Culinary

I have been cooking and baking since I was very young. It has always been a great stress reliever for me, while also showing me how food can build a sense of community. My favorite recipe to bake currently is my chocolate espresso cake with blackberry buttercream.

 Read

Reading has always been a pastime of mine, which has caused me to have a small library in my family home. Some of my favorite novels are The Book Thief by Markus Zusak, The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo by Taylor Jenkins Reid, and The Alchemist by Paulo Coelho.

 Paint

Painting is my creative outlet when I become overwhelmed with work or stress. I have been greatly inspired by the works of Charles Schridde and Hilma af Klint. I've painted several styles but mostly focus on abstract and still life paintings.

 Yoga

Yoga is my newest hobby. Once I moved on campus and took my first class at the rec center, I was hooked. It is a way for me to exercise while also tuning into my emotions and thoughts.

 Music

I have always loved listening to music. I once tried to learn how to play the bass but that was short-lived, to say the least. So now I stick to listening to artists like SZA, Arlo Parks, KISS, and Mac Miller.

 Travel

Traveling and learning about world cultures has always been interesting to me. In fact, it was the whole reason I chose my current career path. I am currently going to Scotland this December and hopefully going to the United Arab Emirates this coming fall.
