The past year has been a deliberate push toward being my best self. I chose to balance a full-time 18-credit-hour course load alongside a demanding year-long co-op as a Marketing and Sales Analytics Intern at Forward Edge. This period of intense engagement served as the primary reason for my personal growth, transforming my understanding of time management, professional identity, and the sheer necessity of perseverance.

My growth this year was rooted in the transition from student to professional. While 18 credit hours alone demand a high level of academic commitment, applying that strategic energy simultaneously to a corporate environment forced me to develop a wide skill set. I learned to speak the language of academic research in the classroom and the language of data-driven results at Forward Edge. This experience matured my perspective, so I no longer see my education and my career as separate phases of life but see them as each informs the other. I grew to recognize that my work capacity was higher than I previously imagined. Doing both school and a co-op helped me discover a level of focus that allowed me to pivot from complex marketing analytics to upper-level coursework without losing momentum.

For me, the resilience needed to sustain this pace came from an honest assessment of the current professional landscape. I am very aware that a competitive job market demands more than just a degree. It requires a proven track record of impact in a real professional setting. My resilience was demonstrated in the early mornings and late nights, where the workload felt like too much. I moved forward by keeping my long-term career and life aspirations in sight. I want to achieve great things, and I understand that those achievements start with the effort I am willing to invest now. Every data set analyzed at Forward Edge and every exam completed was a piece in the foundation of the career I intend to build.

To ensure the momentum gained this year does not stagnate, I am turning to the professional network I cultivated during my time at Forward Edge. These colleagues represent a group of experts who have seen my work ethic firsthand and can offer the guidance necessary to navigate the transition into a corporate marketing or communications department.

To hold myself accountable to these high expectations, I am committing to researching and attending at least two networking events per month. This goal serves two purposes: to keep me integrated within the professional community and ensure that I am constantly refining my ability to communicate my value to potential employers. I'm leveraging my newfound experience in marketing & sales analytics and my expanded network, not just to look for a job. I'm positioning myself to lead in the corporate world and have a great career!
